About me
Hi, I’m Michael Hogg — a personal trainer and fitness coach based in Leighton Buzzard, specialising in person-centred fitness for individuals and groups who need a more supportive approach.
I’m a certified Level 2 personal trainer with over 20 years’ experience in the care sector. This means I understand how to adapt training for people with physical or learning difficulties, focusing on safety, communication, and individual needs — not just exercise.
I work with older adults, people with disabilities, and individuals with learning difficulties to improve strength, mobility, confidence, and overall wellbeing through tailored training programmes, delivered one-to-one or in group care settings.
If you’re looking for a local personal trainer who takes a calm, respectful, and person-centred approach, I’d be happy to chat.

What is Person-Centred Fitness?
Person-centred fitness puts the individual first. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme, sessions are designed around each person’s abilities, needs, preferences, and goals. This approach is especially important for older adults and people with disabilities or learning difficulties, where confidence, communication, and safety are just as important as physical exercise.
By taking the time to understand the person, person-centred fitness helps improve strength, mobility, balance, and overall wellbeing in a way that feels achievable and supportive. Sessions are adapted as needed, progress is made at the right pace, and everyone is encouraged to move in a way that works for them — helping people stay active, independent, and engaged for longer.
